About David Morrice......
David has been playing the violin since he was 10 years old and it was only a matter of time before he was winning numerous competitions throughout Scotland due to his dedication and distinctive style of playing.
David was Junior Scottish Champion at Mussleburgh by the age of 12. This led to many TV appearances, including shows such as Johnny Beattie's 'Welcome To The Ceilidh' and 'Sounds of Britain'.
David left school to study music at London's Knellar Hall where he continued to develop as a violinist but also showed a keen interest in other musical instruments and styles, going on to win 'Best Jazz Group'. He then joined the Scots Guards Band as a violinist and percussionist which gave him the opportunity to tour the world and perform for dignitories in countries such as Australia, Cyprus and also to participate in many state occasions , Trooping the Colour and investitures for the Queen at Buckingham Palace. David then went on to lead the String Group which performed regularly at Downing Street.
David's love of fiddle music brought him home to Aberdeen where he has been actively involved with Last Resort Band and also performing as a soloist for nearly 20 years, bringing his unmistakable sound to weddings and functions across the North East!......take a listen.....
